There are three types of Kouei dormitories according to function. We request residents to understand the concept of each type of the dormitory and to be willing to stay there. We also accept other kinds of residents. Please contact us for more information.
For truants
KKNS welcomes students who cannot go to school and have difficulty developing and keeping social relationships with others. In this dormitory, residents stay together amidst beautiful natural surroundings and learn how to live independently and creatively through various experiences.

- Qualification
- Truants from the fifth to the ninth grade. We accept only those who do not require regular medical examinations. (For those who are above 17 and wish to stay in this kind of dormitory to develop self-reliance, please refer to Job Corps of the Ministry of Welfare.)
- Fee
- Y3,500 per day (including three meals, water & electricity, accommodation and educational fees)
For those who wish to stay and learn in the mountain village
This is for elementary and junior high school students. Our staff will act as foster parents. Residents have to attend schools nearby KKNS.

- April to March of the year following (1 year), though residents are also accepted any time of the year.
- Qualification
- For those who are from the fifth to ninth grades and who are willingly able to proactively participate in the dormitory life/activities in KKNS. Residents must attend the local school that KKNS recognizes.
- Fee
- Y96,000 per month (including meals, utilities, other accommodation, and school fees)
For those who wish to learn creative living
This is for those who would like to stay close to nature and experience agricultural life. Residents will hopefully become aware of different aspects of themselves through exposure to a new environment. KKNS will provide them with an opportunity to 'find oneself', learn about human relationships, and engage in creative living.
